Let’s delve into some detailed tips to ensure you’re maximizing the potential of this powerful platform:

  1. User-Centered Design

The cornerstone of a successful Dynamics 365 CE implementation is a user interface designed with the end-user in mind. Opt for a user-centered design approach, ensuring the interface is not only visually appealing but also intuitive and tailored to meet the specific needs of your organization’s diverse user base. Prioritize ease of use to enhance overall user satisfaction.

  1. Personalized User Experience

Tailor the Dynamics 365 CE environment to suit the unique roles and responsibilities within your organization. By customizing the interface, users can access the functionalities most relevant to their daily tasks, streamlining their workflow and contributing to a more efficient and enjoyable user experience.

  1. Continuous User Feedback

Establish channels for continuous user feedback. Regularly solicit input from end-users to identify pain points, preferences, and areas for improvement. This iterative approach allows for ongoing refinements to the user interface, fostering an environment that evolves with the needs of the users.

  1. User Empowerment

Empower users by adopting a proactive adoption strategy where Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement champions within the team are nominated and trained to foster a culture of self-sufficiency and real-time support to resolve quick challenges any member of the team may experience. Incorporate user-friendly guides, tutorials, and knowledge bases within the Dynamics 365 CE environment. This not only enhances the user experience but also encourages users to explore the platform’s capabilities independently, contributing to increased proficiency over time.

In summary, mastering Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement involves a holistic approach to user experience and adoption. By implementing user-centered design principles, personalized experiences, continuous feedback loops, robust training programs, and user empowerment strategies, you’ll set the stage for a successful and widely adopted Dynamics 365 CE environment.

The workplace is evolving at a rapid pace, and one of the notable changes is the proliferation of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies. While BYOD empowers employees with flexibility and convenience, it poses significant challenges for businesses in terms of security, productivity, and data integrity. This comprehensive guide delves into the realm of BYOD, unpacking its benefits and risks, and offers a strategic roadmap to help businesses effectively navigate the BYOD landscape.

At its core, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) refers to the practice of employees using their personal smartphones, laptops, tablets, or other mobile devices for work-related tasks and accessing company resources. It marks a shift from the traditional provision of company-owned devices, allowing employees to leverage their personal gadgets for professional purposes. BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) offers several benefits for businesses. Some key benefits include increased productivity, cost savings, employee satisfaction, improved collaboration, technology adoption, reduced training costs among others.

While BYOD grants employees freedom and familiarity, it simultaneously introduces concerns regarding security and privacy for organizations. The use of personal devices in a corporate context raises the potential for sensitive company data to be compromised in the absence of robust security measures.

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) can introduce several security risks for businesses if not properly managed and secured. Please share your thoughts.

This area of compute is also known as Edge Computing or may be referred to as Fog Computing to keep with the Cloud metaphor. In an IoT solution, the Edge is where you bring down cloud capabilities in compute, storage, and processing to run on the local network closer to the IoT devices.

Running cloud compute, storage, and processing capabilities closer to IoT devices enables several enhancements to IoT solutions:

    • Lower latency communication from IoT devices to compute, storage, and processing capabilities
    • Ability to offer Offline mode where the solution runs in a disconnected state where the Cloud services are unreachable
    • Increased security by keeping data on the local network and only sending data to the Cloud where necessary; if at all
    • Integrate more advanced compute and processing capabilities (Machine Learning and Analytics) into the IoT solution that runs within the local network

There are many scenarios where IoT Edge or Edge Compute capabilities enable IoT innovations to be possible where they really weren’t possible or feasible before.

https://modiva.org/forums/topic/what-is-the-internet-of-things/#post-8253 <![CDATA[What is the Internet of Things? ]]> https://modiva.org/forums/topic/what-is-the-internet-of-things/#post-8253 Tue, 31 Oct 2023 12:04:30 +0000 Patrick The Internet of Things (IoT) is a growing market that is bringing an ever-increasing number of connected devices and innovative solutions that mix compute power, sensors, and other hardware with the physical world to provide monitoring, predictive, and automation functionality across both consumer and industrial applications. On the face, IoT simply means the Internet connecting compute devices to perform some kind of tasks, however, the modern world of IoT is much different than this original definition that is from the early 2000’s or even earlier in a time before the cloud.

In the modern world of the cloud, the Internet of Things means a bit more than building a system comprised of interrelated computing devices with the ability to transfer data over a network. With the cloud, these devices are being connected to vast amounts of compute and storage capabilities in the cloud that offer much greater analysis, prediction, and reporting features. This means that modern IoT solutions are capable of not just providing an automation layer that doesn’t require human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction, but they are also able to integrate Machine Learning (ML / AI), analytics, and real-time decision capabilities for building innovative solutions with a higher level of business value.

The Internet of Things (IoT) industry has continued to expand and permeate people’s daily lives over the past few years. There are many useful applications for IoT devices and solutions in both the consumer and industrial space. Some of the solutions we have become accustomed to are smart speakers, cameras, Amazon Alexa, and many more in the consumer space. There has even been a greater increase in the use of IoT in manufacturing and industrial applications as well. There are many of the concepts of building IoT solutions that apply to both consumer and industrial IoT solutions.

Gone are the days when all of an organization’s devices are interconnected on a single network with a shared address space. Due to the evolved needs of today’s organizations where office premises can span multiple floors with individuals in the same department working on separate floors but needing access to the same specific resources, a segmentation of networks is needed. This segmentation should allow organizations to still share common resources while allowing department specific resources to be accessible to only individuals who belong to that department. This is where virtual local area networks (VLAN) come in.

But how do VLANs work and what are the various purposes they fulfill?
